We are a residential and commercial interior design firm based in Richmond, Virginia, with projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.

Ivey Design Group's mission is to create lasting, functional, beautiful interiors. Our diverse projects - country homes, city dwellings, restaurants, and custom yachts - have set us apart as one of the leading tastemakers and respected members of the design community. Sophisticated, warm, and inviting, we design spaces that are layered, tailored, and never boring.

With backgrounds in hospitality, residential, yacht, corporate, multi-family, higher education, and product design, we bring a well-rounded set of skills to each project.

The Group

Trip Ivey

Trip is a renaissance man in the making. While at Virginia Tech, he studied civil engineering, went to Europe to study architecture, while finally getting his degree in Industrial Design. Part artist, part engineer, part designer, Trip’s main focus is yacht design, while also being a guiding creative force for many of Ivey Design Group’s projects.

When he’s not creating, he’s moving, either on the water sailing, canoeing, and kayaking, or on land hiking, rock climbing, camping, gardening, and skiing. Check out his personal website at tripivey.com.

Emily Erpelding

Emily joined Ivey Design Group in 2020 and has quickly become a trusted member of the team. An interior design graduate from Virginia Tech, Emily is a certified interior designer with an extensive background in commercial and higher education design. She brings to the team a wealth of knowledge and technical skills, as well as a classic design style and savvy business sense.

Her free time is spent hanging out with her husband and two daughters, exercising, and cooking.

Jamie Ivey

Jamie sets the aesthetic and creative tone for all of Ivey Design Group’s projects. With degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Interior Design from Virginia Tech, she has both the creative and analytical skills needed to navigate the intricate world of interior design. Jamie has worked on high-end hotels and residences for over a decade, and her sophisticated taste and unique design solutions have left an enduring mark on the spaces she’s helped to create.

When she’s not knee-deep in spreadsheets, fabric selections, or 3D modeling, she spends her free time trying to keep up with Trip and their son Jack, binging the latest Netflix series, or buying too many design coffee table books.
