Ivey Design Group is currently seeking a talented project manager / interior designer to join our Richmond, Virginia office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

You will collaborate with our Creative Director on our many high-end residential projects, working to develop and execute the overall design vision. With an eye for detail, great interpersonal and problem-solving skills, you will need to perform both designer and project management tasks at the highest levels to ensure projects are implemented with the utmost quality. Impeccable communication skills are a must, as is being able to juggle multiple projects at the same time, all in various phases. We are looking for someone passionate about residential interior design, who can help create the IDG “modern warmth” aesthetic.   

  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Interior Design:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience at a full-service, high-end interior design firm.

  • Candidate will be helping the Creative Director implement their overall design vision by performing the following interior designer duties: space planning, researching, product sourcing, 3D modeling, millwork design, client presentations, construction drawings, construction schedules and specifications

  • Excellent graphic design skills

  • Mastery of the full residential interior design process, including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation

  • Basic knowledge of building codes

 

Project Management:

  • Maintain project specifications, timelines, and budgets

  • Track all project tasks, statuses, billing, issues, and updating schedules and checklists daily

  • Manage renovation and new construction installations

  • Interact with vendors and trades, performing shop drawing reviews, construction site visits, and constant project coordination

  • Communicate with clients on project statuses

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and processes within the studio

 

Interior Décor:

  • Work with Creative Director and procurement administrator to help source and design custom furniture, as well as select fabrics, lighting, art, and accessories

  • Work with procurement administrator on creating detailed FF&E specifications

  • Help with FF&E installations as needed

  • Help with product styling as needed

Additional Requirements:

  • Extremely proficient in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in Revit LT. Knowledge of AirTable. We are a PC-based office.

  • Knowledge of industry trends, local and online showrooms and resources.

  • Ability to create high-level designs that align with IDG’s aesthetic, where no two projects are the same. We provide bespoke, client-focused designs…there is nothing cookie-cutter over here!

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, organizational skills, and articulating design information to clients.

  • A creative problem-solver

  • Pitch in for any task, no matter how small. We’re a small office and wear many hats!

  • Willing to travel remotely, as required, for client engagements and industry events

  • Local travel required, should have your own reliable vehicle

  • Construction site visits will be required

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

  • Ability to work in-person 4-5 days a week in Richmond, Virginia. Candidates can work remotely as needed, but this will be a mostly in-person position.

  • This is full-time salaried position, not hourly.

  • The expected full-time working hours per week are 35-40 hours, per Virginia state law.

  • Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidate must be either a U.S. citizen or have a valid employment visa to work in the U.S. and be located in Richmond.
